Trade Definitions

Trade Definitions are owned by the Alberta Construction Association and were originally prepared by the now defunct Alberta Construction Tendering System, hereinafter referred to as ACTS, and various trade associations, to identify work to be included or excluded in the bids of trade contractors bidding under the Rules and Regulations of ACTS.  THEY ARE INTENDED TO SUPPLEMENT THE SPECIFICATIONS.  TRADE DEFINITIONS DO NOT PUT WORK INTO NOR EXCLUDE WORK FROM A PRIME CONTRACT, BUT WHERE WORK IS INCLUDED IN THAT CONTRACT BY A SPECIFICATION, THE TRADE DEFINITIONS DESIGNATE WHICH CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE TO DO THAT WORK.
