Government Backed Loans and Emergency Bridge Financing Petition

The wildfire in Fort McMurray has decimated our community, but the disaster will continue to get worse if the trades and small businesses in Fort McMurray are unable to survive both the loss of work, and the loss of Accounts Receivable.  The fire has in many cases, eliminated all opportunities to earn income in the immediate and near future.

We the undersigned, respectfully request immediate access to Government Backed Loans and Emergency Bridge Financing for Fort McMurray Businesses in order for us to survive until the rebuild of our community really begins.

The Fort McMurray Construction Association (FMCA) was incorporated in 1987 and is today one of the largest Non-Profit Associations serving the Commercial, Institutional and Industrial Construction Industry in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.

FMCA provides up-to-date information on construction procurement opportunities and industry activities for a membership of General Contractors, Trade Contractors, Manufacturers and Suppliers of Goods and Services to the Construction Industry.

Each year, hundreds of sets of tender documents are received by the FMCA Plan Room for viewing by members.  Tender documents are sent to FMCA by the Federal, Provincial and Municipal Government, as well as the Private Sector and represent small to large commercial, institutional and some Industrial projects out for bid in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.
