EPR FAQ’s

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
The Electronic Plans Room (EPR) is offered to FMCA Full Members as part of their annually fee that has unlimited access throughout the year. The EPR service gives you access to the Provincial Plans Room - meaning that as a FMCA EPR user you have access to projects from other Associations.

HOW IS EPR MANAGED?

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RED LINK AND THE PHYSICAL PLANS ROOM/ELECTRONIC PLANS ROOM?
The RED Link process is an EXPRESSION OF INTEREST only. A scope of work is identified by the EPC firm and a vendor that is interested, capable, & qualified to perform the scope of work expresses an interest in being considered.

JOBS OUT FOR TENDER (JOT)
If you put work out to tender, you ask people to make offers to do it.  A written offer to contract goods or services at a specified cost or rate - a bid.

RED Link

Q: Why do I receive two notices every time something goes out?

A: You may hold a membership with NAABA. The RED Link Tool acts as a one-point of contact for EPC & Oil Sands Developers that wish to post work opportunities. Upon receipt of a posting, the RED Link Tool forwards each work opportunity to NAABA for their distribution to their members.

Q: Our company has completed the business card, so why aren't we receiving local work opportunities?

A: First check to make sure that you have checked “Yes, I want to receive Local Work Opportunities” on your business card.  If this is okay then one of three things may have happened:
1: You may have not completed your business profile;
2: Your email address may have been entered incorrectly.  Please check both your Business Card and Business Profile to ensure your email address is correct;
3: Our email notices may be being spammed by your internal security system and or internet provider.  We recommend that all Vendors do not depend on email notifications, and that you log-in daily to check for new postings.

Q: Our email address has changed, will this be a problem with REDLink?

A: Yes.  If you forget your User ID and Password you need to remember the email address entered in your company details screen.

Q: How does our company obtain more information about a project posted on REDLink?

A: Unfortunately you can’t.  The intent of The RED Link Tool is to provide a brief scope of work.

Q: Our company has expressed interest in a project.  Why haven't we heard anything back?

A: Responding to an expression of interest doesn’t in any way qualify your company as a viable contractor; it is only a tool that can be used to assist you in getting your companies demographics noticed by Industry.

Q: Can we check and see what opportunities we have already expressed interest in?

A: Yes, the RED Link Tool automatically maintains a list of those submitted by your company.  You can check this list at your convenience by following the instructions below:
Log on to ‘www.redlink.ca

Click on ‘Vendor Area’ – enter your ‘user name & password’

Click on 'Vendor Area'

Click on 'View My Expressions'

Q: Why can't I log in to the Vendors Area?

A: The site uses cookies - you may need to go into your internet browser and delete your cookies and browsing history.

To do this, complete the following steps:

Click on 'Tools',

then 'Internet Options',

Once these steps are completed, try logging back in.  If you are still having issues contact the REDLink Tool Administrator.

Q: Our firm has a valid membership, but can't log in anymore.  Why not?

A: One of three things have happened.

1. Your membership has lapsed

2. You need to delete your cookies (see question above)

3. You are not entering your User ID and Password correctly. (see next question)

Q: I forgot my username and password.  What do I do?

A: Use the password retrival tool on the website.

Click Vendor Area and click on ‘forgot password’ and follow the prompts. The following should appear on your screen – “Your Password has been sent to your E-Mail Id”.  If any other message appears please click on “contact us” at the bottom of the menu bar, and the RED Link Tool Administrator will contact you.

It is important to use the same email address that you used to register.  If you've changed your email address you will have to contact the REDLink Administrator.  And the fields are case sensitive.

Q: What's the difference between a Business Card, and a Business Profile?

A: Business Card: A small card with a persons name and professional information (such as occupation, business phone number, email address, etc).

Business Profile: Consise description which, among other items of information, includes (1) firms history, (2) number and quality of its human, financial, and physical resources (3) organizational and management structure, (4) past, current and anticipated performance, and (5) its reputation, and the standing of its good or services.

Q: Does our firm have to have a completed Business Profile?

A: Yes, access to work opportunites is contingent upon your firm having a completed business profile.  Until you have created your business profile you won't be listed in the REDLink searchable database, notified of work opportunities, and/or have access to tools under the vendor secured area.

Q: How do we update our companys contact information?

A: It is the Vendor’s responsibility to keep their firm’s information current and accurate.  Access to the Vendor secured area is available 24/7/365 days of the year! Log on to ‘www.redlink.ca
Click on ‘Vendor Area’ – enter your ‘user name & password’

Q: Why do I receive messages saying my password will expire soon?
